The Vollrath Super Pan V 2/3 Size Food Pan is made of 22 gauge stainless steel. The strong 300 series stainless steel combined with the concave tapered corners and formed edge give the pan strength, and durability and resist damage from impacts - which are inevitable in busy commercial kitchens.
These food pans, inserts, hotel pans, steam table pans, or whatever you may call them, have rounded bottom edges and corners making it easy to scoop or spoon out food and minimizing yield loss. It also means they are easier to clean. The corner edges work as pouring spouts.
